What is Sports Physiotherapy?
Sports Physiotherapy is a form of physical therapy that specifically treats sports related illness and injury.
As athletes perform vigorous levels of activity that place strain and demand on their bodies regularly, their treatment must be tailored to this high intensity lifestyle. Sports Physiotherapy offers treatment specific to sports men and women so that their recovery is suited to their fitness requirements.
How can Sports Physiotherapy help you?
TPM Sports physiotherapists have detailed knowledge of the way an athlete’s body mechanically operates. Our specialised practitioners have completed 4 years of University studies as an undergraduate and a further 2 years of postgraduate studies to receive a Master’s Degree in Sports Physiotherapy. They have a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, crisis management, assessment and treatment of joint and muscle conditions. In addition, a Sports Physiotherapist has undertaken further studies specifically in the management of sports injury, and can assist their patients in developing appropriate strength and flexibility which will certainly improve performance.
