Spinal Health Week 22nd – 27th May

Posted on: May 18th, 2017 by The Physio Movement | Categories: Sports Medicine & Nutrition

This coming week at TPM we are working towards making a contribution to the better health of our great community, through generating Chiropractic awareness during Spinal Week 2017.
With the alarming statistics of lower back pain within Australia, TPM is offering FREE Postural and Spine screenings throughout the week of 22nd-27th May.

Did you know- “with around 70-90% of Australians suffering from lower back problems in some form at some point in their lives, it is fast becoming a major public health concern. While the burden of low back pain is ranked sixth in the world, it is ranked first in Australasia.”

Chiropractic and Chronic Back Problems
For chronic back problems, chiropractors use a variety of non-surgical treatments, such as spinal manipulation or manual therapies. Chiropractors will assess your health and offer advice on how to manage the symptoms.

Chiropractors advise patients on self-management of chronic pain through exercise, diet and lifestyle modification, working with other healthcare providers where needed.

Patient Centred Approach – One Size Does Not Fit All
Chiropractors assess each patient individually and tailor treatment accordingly.

Although chronic back problems are common, the causes are not always the same. Some people are at the early stages of developing chronic back problems, while others are long-term sufferers and the treatment approach reflects each person’s unique circumstances.

Help is at Hand
Chiropractors are qualified to address musculoskeletal disorders and can help relieve the symptoms of chronic back pain. Even at early stages of acute back pain, chiropractors can advise on appropriate measures.

Chiropractors use a variety of techniques such as spinal manipulation and manual therapy. They also advise on appropriate lifestyle and dietary modifications to help patients lead healthier lives.” CAA
