At TPM we specialise in getting people of all abilities moving in a fun, safe and welcoming environment. Physical activity is important for EVERYBODY, no matter of their limitations. Unfortunately, for many people with a disability on the NDIS, exercise can seem difficult or overwhelming, especially in a large public Gyms – Thats when you need TPM!
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing services to Australians living with a disability, as well as the families and carers who support them. Inclusivity into mainstream fitness services including personal training with an Exercise Physiologist and small group exercise classes have become a developing way for participants to improve their fitness levels in a safe and nurturing social setting at TPM.
AT TPM we offer NDIS registered Personal Training (Degree educated Exercise Physiology) sessions within our private gym setting, at home or hydrotherapy. We work closely with NDIA across Australia to implement NDIS funded Personal Training Sessions to participants who qualify under ‘Improved Health and Wellbeing’ and ‘Daily Activity’ funding.
NDIS Exercise and Fitness ~ Exercise Physiology
We are all about making exercise convenient, fun and non-intimidating with our professional exercise trainers. At TPM we offer a wheelchair accessible modern rehabilitation gym setting for you to work 1:1 with your trainer. Alternatively, we can offer Exercise Physiology to our clients in home, hydrotherapy pool or care facility, which saves the hassle of coming to us. Your trainer will bring all the equipment to you, but most importantly we bring motivation and experience!
We specialise in making exercise accessible in Townsville
Our NDIS registered Trainers have experience with a variety of different conditions including Downs Syndrome, Autism, CP, Spinal cord injuries, Brain Injuries, and many, many others. For some clients it’s simply about moving, talking and smiling; for others it’s a more specialised program in conjunction with their Physiotherapist or Doctors.
For Lilly (7) is was about not letting her Cerebral Palsy limit her quality of life any more than it had to. Her main goal of visiting TPM was to be able to ride a scooter! It took 6 months of dedication, but Lilly can now ride her scooter with friends, and visits fortnightly to maintain her strength.
